About Marie's

Marie’s Sandwich Shop has been a Trumbull landmark for over 40 years, originally starting as a luncheonette connected to the Rexall pharmacy across the street.  It later moved to the other corner of the plaza (where Starbucks currently resides) and has now been in its current location for over 15 years.  Five years ago, owner Kathleen Hallahan purchased the restaurant from Marie’s daughters and has since retained the traditional charm while updating the menu, hours and atmosphere to serve today’s customers.

Marie’s is the place to go when you want to catch up with an old friend over a nice meal.  The friendly atmosphere is conducive to relaxation in a casual setting.  It’s the place that regulars flock to because all of the waitresses know their names (and quite a bit more!).  It’s the “town happenings hub”, a place where townsfolk can get caught up on the latest in Trumbull.  Marie’s Sandwich Shop – where Trumbull starts its day. 

The evening venue began in late fall 2009 in response to townsfolk screaming for more evening dining options.  With an empty diner at night, owner Kathy Hallahan (being the food lover she is), executed her vision of casual, yet finer dining where people can come out, bring a nice bottle of wine, relax and have top notch food cooked to perfection served to them.  The transformation from diner to bistro is absolutely amazing, and now this segment of operation has a growing loyal clientele.  

Hours of Operation:

Breakfast:  Served daily 6:30am - 11:30am Monday-Friday, Saturday 6:30am-2pm and Sunday 8am-1pm.

Lunch:  Served daily 11:30am-2 (Mon, Tues, Wed and Sat) and until 3:00pm Thurs and Friday.

Dinner:  Served 5:30-9:30pm Thursday and Friday (adding Saturday beginning October 1).
